Reese Witherspoon’s Sweet Retreat in Ojai
by HOOKEDONHOUSES on JULY 26, 2012

Last time we saw photos of her house, they were from the real estate listing. So I was excited to hear that Reese gave Elle Decor a tour of “Libbey Ranch” so we can see how she put her own stamp on it. Take a look!

The lovely photos were taken by William Waldron and styled for the mag by Anita Sarsidi.

The ranch made news last year when Reese married Jim Toth here. Looks like a pretty sweet place for a wedding! Now they’re expecting their first child together.

It was formerly owned by designer Kathryn Ireland, and House Beautiful featured it when she lived here. You may remember her from the Bravo show Million-Dollar Decorators (second season coming this fall, y’all!).

It was a little more colorful back then. Here’s how she decorated the house:

Originally, this house was designed by Wallace Neff in the ’20s to be a barn. Then another architect, Austen Pierpoint, made changes in the ’40s so it could be a home. This is classic Spanish architecture, but with a sense of bohemian fun, comfortable and loose.
