The 52-Room Mansion 50 Cent Spends $72,000 a Month

Just why 50 Cent recently filed for bankruptcy is a matter of some debate. The rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, was ordered by a jury to pay $5 million to Lastonia Leviston, after he leaked her sex tape online as part of a feud with her ex, musician Rick Ross. When Jackson recently appeared on Conan O’Brien’s show, he hinted that the bankruptcy protection was due to the lawsuit, saying, “You get a bull’s-eye painted on your back when you’re successful, and it’s public. You become the ideal person for lawsuits.”
In late July, Leviston’s lawyer argued, based on that appearance, that Jackson filed for bankruptcy protection to shield himself from the lawsuit; Jackson was then ordered to pay $2 million dollars to pay on top of the original $5 million.

In court, Jackson argued that he’s nowhere near as wealthy as his lifestyle makes him seem, saying he rented his luxury cars, recycled his gold chains, and only wears watches that cost a few hundred dollars, according to Business insider.

Another aspect of the rapper’s lifestyle was put on display when Leviston’s attorney asked him for details about the 52-room mansion, which has been on and off the market since 2007. During the hearing, Jackson said he makes $185,000 a month but spends $108,000, including $9,000 on security, $5,000 on gardening, $3,000 on clothes, $1,000 on grooming, and $72,000 on the mansion, according to CBS.
Considering the house has 21 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, a movie theater, nightclub, basketball courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a grotto, and a casino, that figure might not be far off. Located in Farmington, Connecticut, the house is over 48,000 square feet. During a 2012 interview on Oprah's Next Chapter, Jackson admitted that living in the $10-million house, which used to belong to Mike Tyson, was a constant reminder of what could happen to his money.
“He sold the property to me when he couldn’t keep it,” Jackson said. “It keeps you conscious of it. I never understand how, like, artists get in a great situation and then not have time to count money. Like, I have plenty of time. I’ll sit there. I’ll count the money with the accountant.”

Taylor Swift $7.16M Tower of Lethendy

Sometimes you really can have too much money. Case in point: Serial home-buyer Taylor Swift once again is looking to snatch up pricey property, allegedly to be near (stalk?) another man in her long list of rumored beaus.
The latest reports say the 25-year-old songstress is eyeing a listed castle—yes, a castle—in Scotland, close to the Edinburgh base of boyfriend and celebrity DJ Calvin Harris. Specifically, it’s the $7.16 million Tower of Lethendy, which dates back to 1570 and is located about a 90-minute drive north of the city.
Set on 40 acres, the castle has eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The grounds also include two gate lodges, two staff cottages, an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts and a heated pool.

Madonna's $20m Beverly Hills Mansion

Pop icon/aspiring stand-up-comic Madonna sold her famed 9 bedroom estate  on Sunset Boulevard a year and a half ago, to a private equity investor, for $19.5 million, but just last month it came back onto the market with the same exact listing information as before, but a hefty new pricetag: $27.995 million (close to what she had first reportedly asked for the place for back in 2012).
The 1.17-acre estate is set far back from Sunset and counts among its amenities nine bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a two-story dining room, a "junior" dining room, a full-size screening room, two offices and two staff offices, two guesthouses, and a "resort size" pool. There weren't any listing photos when the flip went up for sale last month, and there weren't any back when Madonna put the place up for sale, so it's hard to tell what (if anything) has changed inside the estate to warrant the major mark-up. The listing copy does say "recently remodeled," but it's used that phrase for a couple of years now, and it adds "No detail was overlooked and no expense has been spared in maintaining the house meticulously." Eitiher way, we're finally getting a look inside o see what $27.995 million buys these day.

Christiano Ronaldo Buys Donald Trump's NYC Condo for $18.5M

Real Madrid soccer—sorry, football—player and international heartthrob Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a three-bedroom condo in Midtown, the Post reports. Ronaldo laid down $18.5 million for the 2,509-square-foot three-bedroom pad at 721 Fifth Avenue, the esteemed Trump Tower where gratuitous amounts of wood paneling and veined marble are the norm. The apartment is adding fuel to the fire that Ronaldo is looking to sign on a MLS team when his Real Madrid contract expires in 2018. Before Rinaldo signed on the pad on Wednesday, it belonged to Italian real estate mogul Alessandro Proto.
