Katy Perry Picks Up a Pair Of Properties in Los Angeles
When we last caught up with the lovely Katy Perry, she had just listed her Hollywood Hills home with her then-husband Russell Brand. That home remains on the market for $6.925 million, but Perry is already on to new things. The Real Estalker reports that Perry has snagged not one but two pieces of prime acreage in Los Angeles, and one has a bit of celebrity provenance. Perry spent a total of $11.2 million.
Perry picked up a total of around four acres split up over a pair of purchases from heiress Aileen Getty. Neither property was listed at the time. Getty previously purchased one of the homes from Bruce Springsteen drummer and former Conan O’Brien bandleader Max Weinberg. Weinberg and his wife, Rebecca, are serial house flippers who bought the home in 2009 from director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Forner, the parents of Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal.
The home is at the end of a long private driveway and sits on nearly an acre. The five-bedroom home was built in 1953 and has midcentury modern lines with walls of glass, an open floor plan and a sharp, angular appeal. The kitchen has stainless counters and Miele appliances and flows into a large living room with 14-foot ceilings and a fireplace. The master bathroom has dual custom-poured concrete vanities and wood floors. The property also has a two-bedroom guesthouse and a swimming pool with views of the Los Angeles skyline.
