Martin Lawrence's House: The Comedy Star Lists $26 Million Beverly Hills Mansion

Martin Lawrence's House: The Comedy Star Lists $26 Million Beverly Hills Mansion

Martin Lawrence has had a rather tumultuous relationship with Hollywood, and the public, over the years. The son of a member of the U.S. Military, he was born in Germany, and spent most of his childhood years in Maryland. He was originally focused on a promising career in boxing, but also attended a magnet school for the performing arts. He later relocated to Denver, Colorado, and began performing on the stand-up comedy circuit. This led to competing on "Star Search", where he made it to the finals, and then to work on television and in film projects such as, "What's Happening Now!!", "Do the Right Thing", and "House Party". He also hosted the popular HBO series, "Def Comedy Jam". However, it was his Fox television show, "Martin", that made him a star worldwide. The popular series ran from 1992 and 1997, and helped put Fox on the map as a competitive network. He has since appeared in multiple films, including, "Bad Boys", and its sequel, "Blue Streak", "Big Momma's House", and its sequels, "Black Knight", "Rebound", "Wild Hogs", and "Death at a Funeral". While his career has managed to flourish, his personal life has had some significant ups and downs, all of which have been followed by the media. From public meltdowns on various movie sets, to brandishing a gun in traffic, to accusations of sexual harassment and misconduct on the set of "Martin", to almost dying from running in too many layers of clothes on a hot day, Martin Lawrence's life has been anything but funny. He recently split with his companion of nearly 20 years (who he married just three years ago), and this past month, he listed their massive home in Beverly Hills.

Martin Lawrence's house in Beverly Hills is 15,000 square feet and contains seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms. After a failed attempt at renting out the mansion for $200,000 per month, he finally decided to put it on the market. Martin Lawrence's house features high ceilings, hardwood and marble floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, arched doorways, chandeliers, and multiple fireplaces. The entryway is dominated by a gorgeous marble staircase, and elsewhere in the house there is a billiards room, a huge fish tank, and a state-of-the-art eat-in kitchen. Outside of Martin Lawrence's house are meticulously landscaped grounds, a swimming pool, and a spa. The house is on sale for $26.5 million, but since he seems to want to get it off his hands quickly, you might be able to talk him down by a few million.
