Jennifer Aniston Buys Sleek A. Quincy Jones Mod in L.A. for $21 Mil (PHOTOS)

Jennifer Aniston Buys Sleek A. Quincy Jones Mod in L.A. for $21 Mil (PHOTOS)

The cast of Friends dominated the celebrity real estate scene in 2011, with Chandler, Rachel and Ross buying and selling properties left and right, and it appears the trend will continue in 2012. Becoming the first of the hit sitcom’s cast members to play the market this year is Jennifer Aniston, who, according to TMZ, has reportedly shelled out $21 million for a magnificent California Modern dwelling in the hills of Bel Air.

With an original listing price of $24.9 million, it seems that the Emmy Award-winning actress, who sold one home in Beverly Hills and rented another this past year, got quite the bargain on the mid-century mod designed by architect A. Quincy Jones. Built in 1965, the completely remodeled 8,500-square-foot property features the quintessential modernist features; post-and-beam architecture with flowing lines and symmetry, vast interior spaces and floor-to-ceiling walls of glass open the home to ocean and city views. Besides the home, Aniston’s new private estate includes a tranquil koi pond and garden, pool and a detached guest house, while the rear of the property is lined with rows of grapevines.

Matthew Perry Sells His Outpost Estates Home in Los Angeles for $4.7M

After a frenzy of flipping over the past few of the years, the cast of Friends has been rather quiet on the home-buying and selling front in 2013…until now. Matthew Perry, he of many fancy homes, has parted ways with one of his luxe properties. According to the Huffington Post, the actor formerly known as Chandler Bing has sold his boxy Outpost Estates home inLos Angeles, CA. When we last checked in on the property, Perry was asking almost $5.7 million for the 4,100-square-foot home, which boasts panoramic views of L.A and luxe amenities like a media room, modern kitchen, and walls and walls of towering glass. Although he didn’t get quite as much as he had hoped – the home reportedly sold for $4.685 million – Perry did manage to net a tidy $210,000 profit on his 2008 purchase.

Jean-Claude Van Damme's House

Jean-Claude Van Damme's House: The Action Star Launches a Real Estate Comeback

There was a period of time in the late 80s and early 90s, when Jean-Claude Van Damme was the MAN. He was everywhere – in popular action films, at awards ceremonies, on talk shows, and featured on entertainment news programs around the world. The "Muscles from Brussels" was a bonafide superstar. Jean-Claude Van Damme began practicing martial arts when he was ten years old, and won multiple honors throughout his teens and twenties, culminating in winning the bodybuilding title, "Mr. Belgium". After moving to the U.S. in 1982, he shifted his focus to acting and scored a major box office hit with "Bloodsport", in 1988. For the next few years, he would release a string of popular action films, including, "Cyborg", "Kickboxer", "Double Impact", "Universal Soldier", "Nowhere to Run", "Hard Target", and the massively successful, "Timecop". Unfortunately, like many stars before him, he started to fall apart under the influence of drugs. His substance abuse, combined with previously undiagnosed bipolar disorder, derailed his career. By 1998, his projects were being released straight-to-video only, and he had gone from "on top of the world" to "under a rock". However, 2012 proved to be a comeback year for the action star, with three action films released at once. It looks like he is poised to reclaim a modicum of his former glory. All of the recent work, means he can afford a new house.

Jean-Claude Van Damme's house is 7,574 square feet spread out over four stories. The six bedroom, eight bathroom house, was originally on the market for $5.85 million, but Mr. Van Damme offered $6 million for it, just so the owners were super clear that he wanted the home. Jean-Claude Van Damme's house also features eight fireplaces, a billiard room, a home gym, an elevator, a rooftop garden, and a spa. Around the outside of Jean-Claude Van Damme's house, there are fire pits, waterfalls, and a bike path. It's clear that Mr. Van Damme is enjoying his return to prominence. Let's hope it lasts a little longer this time.
