Homes of Country Music Stars: Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum

Country music stars exchanged boots, jeans and plaid for dress shoes, suits and gowns this past Sunday for the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. In honor of the evening, we’re taking a look at the homes where some of the biggest names in country music hang their hats and kick back with a glass of sweet iced tea.

Johnny Cash

You can’t talk about country music without paying homage to one of the most iconic singer/songwriters in the 20th century. Johnny Cash penned dozens of hits, including “Ring of Fire,” “I Walk the Line,”and “Folsom Prison Blues,” among others. While he spent most of his career in a lakefront home in Henderson, TN, he moved across the street to a ranch home in his later years, as the lake home became difficult for him to get around in. Cash’s final home — often referred to as “Mama Cash’s House” — has been on and off the market since 2009 and was last listed for $595,000.
Taylor Swift

Blonde songstress Taylor Swift may sing with a little twang, but the country girl calls the bright lights of Hollywood home and picked up a secluded estate in Beverly Hills earlier this year. Swift’s 2,826-sq ft Beverly Hills home was built in 1941, and unlike most Beverly Hills estates, it is Cape Cod-style with 4-bedrooms and 4-baths. Swift burst onto the country music scene with her hit “Tim McGraw” and has garnered a bevy of awards, including four Grammys at the 52nd Grammy Awards.
Alan Jackson

Alan Jackson’s songs were a country music mainstay in the early ’90s and he collected several Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association awards, as well as chart-topping albums. Born and raised in Georgia, Jackson moved to Nashville in the mid-1980s in order to pursue his singing career. While he still resides in the country music capitol, Jackson picked up a few vacation homes in Florida, including a Key West property currently listed for $900,000.
Faith Hill

Faith Hill has garnered quite a career on her own, but her marriage to another country music superstar Tim McGraw has made her even more of a household name. Hill became famous in the late-1990s with her mainstream-friendly hits like “Breathe” and “The Way That You Love Me.” Hill grew up in Mississippi but her and McGraw currently live in a custom estate in Nashville. The pair designed and built the home from the ground up and moved in December 2009.
Lady Antebellum

Country music group, Lady Antebellum, has had a busy road to stardom since earning their first number-one single in July 2009, with “I Run To You” from their self-titled debut album. The Nashville-born group is composed of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood and since 2009, has collected quite a few Grammy nominations and awards as well as nods from the ACM Awards and Country Music Association. All three group members currently call Nashville home, and lead singer Kelley bought his first home in 2010: a 2,700-square-foot, 4-bed, 4-bath house built in 1910.
John Rich

Country music singer John Rich has had quite a few hits as a solo artist, but he is best known as the other half of the group Big & Rich, who made it big with the hit “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy.” Rich recently sold his first house for $486,900, marketing the home in a video and asking buyers if they “wanted to be his neighbor.” The country music star built a new home next door, so close by that Rich explained, that “you could probably throw a rock and hit my front door.”
