Dr. Dre Just Dropped $50 Million To Buy Tom Brady And Gisele Bundchen's LA Mansion
Damn. Dr. Dre is having a really good week. One week ago it was revealed that he and Jimmy Iovine had signed a deal to sell their electronics company, Beats By Dre, to Apple for $3.2 billion. As a 25% equity owner in the company, Dre is set to take home roughly $800 million before taxes. After taxes, his net worth will instantly increase from $200 million to $750 million. Amazing, right? Well, it turns out that this wasn't the only high-dollar deal that Dre was closing this week. Just as the the ink was drying on the Beats deal, Dre agreed to buy Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen's incredible Brentwood mansion for a mind-boggling $50 million.
We've actually written about this mansion a couple times in the past. Located in a gated community in the ultra-exclusive town of Brentwood, California, Tom and Gisele built the entire property from scratch on one of the most beautiful plots of lands in California. It is spread out over 14,000 square feet overlooking the pacific ocean. The interior of the house features six bedrooms, hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, open-beamed ceilings, multiple fireplaces, a state-of-the art kitchen, a large gym, airy, marble-tiled bathrooms, and multiple large closets. The exterior of the house features a moat filled with koi, a large pool, a motorcourt constructed out of reclaimed stones that can only be reached by driving over a small bridge, and beautifully landscaped grounds. The entire home is eco-friendly and uses solar power and grey-water technology. It was also constructed out of eco-friendly reclaimed materials. Tom and Gisele bought the land in 2009 then spent three years and more than$20 million dollars to build everything entirely from scratch.
Incredibly, Tom and Gisele lived in the house for less than a year before realizing that with Tom's schedule it made much more sense to base their home on the East Coast. Fortunately for this super couple, California is currently going through one of the hottest real estate markets of all time. When they decided to list the house, they immediately received a half dozen all-cash offers. They were about to close on one of those offers when Dr. Dre came in and blew everyone away with $50 million.
